Before Skardu on Wheels
Skardu on Wheels traces its roots to early 2019, when international hikers and travelers began seeking the hidden gems of Northern Pakistan. Yousaf, our first-generation host. Started with a 1999 Toyota Prado, welcoming guests and organizing safe, scenic journeys across Gilgit-Baltistan. Word of mouth grew, and so did the routes. Over the next seasons the service expanded into multiple vehicles operating throughout the region.
His son, Mehdi (second generation), carried the vision forward. Building the fleet, standardizing service, and raising safety and comfort standards for visitors. That family commitment to reliable car rental in Skardu laid the groundwork for today’s Skardu on Wheels. Local drivers, well-maintained vehicles, and thoughtful itineraries designed for mountain roads and changing weather.
Beginning of a new chapter
In May 2025, Mursil, an avid world traveler. Visited Skardu and met Mehdi. Inspired by Mehdi’s hospitality and service, they joined forces to modernize the family car-rental business, launching Skardu on Wheels. Their goal was clear: create a secure, easy online platform so travelers can book chauffeur-driven vehicles in Skardu before they arrive. With a strong attention to detail, they raised the bar for comfort and safety: well-maintained, clean vehicles, onboard Wi-Fi and device charging, licensed local drivers, complimentary airport pickup and hotel transfers, and well-planned private and group tours for families, friends, and corporate teams. Renting a car in Skardu has never been easier. Tourists, visitors, hikers, and anyone from around the world can now instantly book their rental vehicles in Skardu.
